"Daybreak at Sprague"
Sprague Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park
I arrived at Sprague Lake about 30 minutes before sunrise hoping for a nice calm lake but found that the wind had started to pick up. I also saw that the clouds were still thick over the mountains so I chose a location where I had a nice still portion of water and a view to the east. As I waited it began to rain and was pretty chilly for a June morning. Just a few minutes before sunrise the rain stopped and we had a terrific light show. I was so excited by the dramatic colors that I actually cheered. What a great way to start the day.
