Some of the most rugged and spectacular mountains in RMNP lie on the west side of the Continental Divide. The best views can be found along Forest Canyon Pass up to Mount Ida.

Spring has arrived in the tundra. It is early July and the snow is quickly disappearing but all is green and alive with new life on the Never Summer Mountains. Who said it is Never Summer up there.
This is an odd sized print so write for purchase information. It will look beautiful, it just won't fit in my list of standard print sizes.

A friend and I hiked the Continental Divide to reach a point below Mt Ida where I left my headlamp over the winter. Michael agreed to serve as my model against the rugged backdrop of the Never Summer Range. We found my headlamp and it worked like new even after 7 months of harsh weather! I didn't even have to change batteries! Photo © by Erik Stensland.

Nokhu Crags in the distance caught my eye with its strange shape which was mimicked by the lines of snow coming down the various mountains around it. I just love the textures here. I wish you could see it really big! Photo © by Erik Stensland.

The mountains just seemed to hold a velvety feel and yet they are large rugged rocky mountains. It is an interesting contrast. Photo © by Erik Stensland.
